Built in 1864 as a venue of the Stuttgart Liederkranz, the "Old Liederhalle" was rebuilt and expanded in 1910. In the night of 8 October 1943 incendiary bombs destroyed the Liederhalle during a heavy air attack. Not until 1956 the "New Liederhalle" was built as an architectural work of art by Rolf Gutbrod and Adolf Abel in the same place. Wolfgang Henning expanded it in 1991 with the congress structures to the today's Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Liederhalle. From a pure concert hall it has evolved into an internationally recognized convention center.
The Kultur- und Kongresszentrum Liederhalle has five large halls and 18 conference and meeting rooms and a net exhibition area of 3,800 square meters. It provides a stylish setting for the Annual Meeting on Nuclear Technology 2012.
